It all started in the mid 1970’s when a young outdoor enthusiast named Brin Grosfield turned his passion for cycling into what has become the premier cycling shop in north central Montana, “Knicker Biker.”
When asked about the difference in the cycling world today compared to when he first opened Knicker Biker, Brin raises an eyebrow in thought and replies, “well, there were never fat tires back then.” “Fat tires,” we ask? Brin chuckles, “mountain bikes.” As a matter of fact, Brin was one of the first people in Great Falls to own a mountain bike.
It’s hard to find a person with more cycling experience than Brin. He loves biking so much that you can see him riding his bike to work just about every day. When the rest of us say “too cold”, Brin rides on. “Cold and snow aren’t bad … it’s the ice that’s a killer.”
So the next time you see the “crazy man from the crazy mountains” riding his bike down Central Avenue in a foot of snow, be sure to say hi. And the next time you need a new bike, accessories or even a spring tune-up, make sure you go see your cycling expert ... Brin Grosfield from “Knicker Biker”.
